LFEX European Aquaculture Snapshot to 4th September, 2026

The LFEX Norwegian Exporters Index for Week 36 2026 ended the week DOWN -0.57 NOK /- 0.85% to stand at 66.14 NOK (in EUR terms 6.12 / -0.02 / -0.21%) FCA Oslo Week ending Thursday to Thursday.
The NOK rate ended DOWN at 10.80 (-0.07 / -0.64%) to the Euro to yesterday Thursday. The Fish Pool Euronext future October was reported DOWN at 5.97 EUR (-2.45% / -0.15) for the same period with November showing 6.45.
The Last Week
(Another) softer week. Offered prices opened down last Friday at 65.35 a fall of 1.36 NOK / -2.04% over last weeks close (66.71), and this was however the low of the week as prices were marked down with significant volumes coming through and anticipated price weakness predicted. Monday saw a minor perk up to 66.13 but in reality, the index flat lined for the week around the 66 NOK offered levels, finishing off at 66.14.
The FX rate saw some intra week volatility after sitting around the 10.86 level last Friday we saw a significant but short-lived drop on Monday to 10.80 levels before rebounding to similar 10.85 levels. Overall, the rate then tracked lower to end up around the 10.80 to the end of the week Thursday.
Spreads on 3-6s tightened remained around 2.5 NOK by the end of the week with the larger fish trading at a smaller premium.
Next Week
Indications for the index for next week are coming in at around 66.5 NOK Friday offered levels for the index – some 1.5 NOK higher than this time last week and flat from yesterday. Lots of fish coming through that needs to be sold. Prices are pretty level at the moment.
Spreads are around the 3.5 NOK level between 3-6’s wider than yesterday indicating a little more variance in pricing. The larger fish 5/6s are slightly wider spread than the 2-5’s.
The EUR NOK FX rate this afternoon is around the 10.81 levels so not much movement here. This makes the offered price in Euro’s around 6.15 FCA Oslo this afternoon.
Volumes – Fresh Export Whole Salmon
Volume figure for week 35 (2026) was 30,487 as compared to 27,726 for the same week last year UP
2,761 tons some 9.96% HIGHER. Volumes for whole salmon weeks 36 and 37 (2025) were 26,744 and 24,791 respectively for comparison.
Historical Price Guidance for Next Week
The LFEX Norwegian Exporters Index for Week 37 2025 ended the week UP +4.99 NOK / +7.23% to stand at 74.03 NOK (in EUR terms 6.38 / +0.50 / +8.52%) FCA Oslo.The NOK rate ended DOWN at 11.61 (-0.14 / -1.19%) to the Euro. The Fish Pool Euronext future October was reported UP Thursday to Thursday at 5.80 EUR, (+0.45 / 8.41%) approximately 67.34 NOK.
