The LFEX Norwegian Exporters Index for Week 13 2026 ended the week DOWN -4.80 NOK / -5.07% to stand at 89.86 NOK (in EUR terms 8.09 / -0.52 / -6.01%) FCA Oslo Week ending Thursday to Thursday (yesterday).
The NOK rate ended UP at 11.11 (+0.11 / +1.00%) to the Euro over the same period. The Fish Pool Euronext future April was reported DOWN at 8.20 EUR (-3.53% / -0.30) for the same period for comparison with May showing 8.42.
The Last Week
Index headed lower this week. Quite a lot of noise around pricing last Friday and the picture wasn’t clear as the week kicked off 1.23 NOK / -1.30% lower at 93.43. Monday actually saw the index tick-up slightly to 93.81 on the strength of 5/6s as the spreads started to decouple with 3-5s flat. Monday was the peak and we saw a gentle decline of 4 NOK for the 3 remaining trading days, Tuesday 91.05, Wednesday 90.58 and a close out average of 89.86.
The FX rate was volatile this week along with the roller coaster of oil markets the NOK being an ‘energy’ currency. We saw the rate whipsaw from 11.04 to 11.28 Friday to Monday, gave back small Tuesday to peak again at 11.29 and dumping again Thursday to 11.11. Overall, an 11 point rise but this didn’t tell the story.
Spreads appeared from nothing last week (starting with 5/6s lower than 4/5s), by Monday 5/6s had detached and were up 1.7 NOK with 3-5’s flat. Tuesday saw the market drop with the smaller fish off over 4.5 NOK. Spreads increased to close out 5 NOK wide.
Next Week
Early indications showing prices around the 90 NOK offered level for the index as we head into the new week, 3 NOK off the same time last week. Seems quiet out there as we head in the Easter week and the long weekend.
Spreads have come back in a little with 3.5 NOK separating 3-6s this afternoon.
The EUR NOK FX rate is this afternoon is around the 11.20 level having rebounded off its low today around 11.14. This would make a Euro price of 8.03 this afternoon 0.40 lower than this time last week.
Volumes – Fresh Export
Volume figure for week 12 (2026) was 18,308 tons, DOWN 136 tons as compared to 18,172 in 2025 some 0.75% HIGHER. Volumes for weeks 13 and 14 (2025) were 18,826 and 19,053 respectively for comparison.
David Nye’s technical analysis report will be published next week.
