The Last Week

Lightly softer week and a reverse of the last week. Offered prices opened up last Friday at 70.98 a rise of 0.6 NOK / 0.85% over last weeks close (70.38), and this was the high of the week. Again, no significant volatility as prices eased at the back end of the week. Monday settled back small, and Tuesday took us back to last weeks close at 70.38. Wednesday was off at 68.9 and Thursday pushed the week to 68.51 and the low. Often the drop at the end of the week indicates unsold fish.

The FX rate tracked lower in a narrow range starting around 10.925 on Monday and finding a low at 10.885 on Thursday. We saw a small pick up to 10.91 Thursday afternoon. The trend was overall lower.

Spreads on 3-6s were around 5.8 NOK by the end of the week with the larger fish trading at relative premium – so an increase in spread at the end of the week.

Next Week

Indications for next week are coming in at around 67.6 NOK Friday offered levels for the index – some 3.5 NOK lower than this time last week and a further 1 NOK lower than yesterday. Unsold fish from last week and good summer volumes. Big fish at a premium.

Spreads are around the 3.5 NOK level between 3-6’s so tighter than yesterday. About a NOK between the 3/4s and 4/5s with the larger fish 5/6s again maintaining a decent premium over the 2-4s.

The EUR NOK FX rate this afternoon is down from 10.92 levels to the 10.85 level this afternoon. This makes the offered price in Euro’s around 6.23 FCA Oslo this afternoon.

Volumes – Fresh Export

Volume figure for week 33 (2026) was 28,762 as compared to 27,320 for the same week last year UP 1,442 tons some 5.28% HIGHER. Volumes for weeks 34 and 35 (2025) were 28,180 and 27,726 respectively for comparison.
