LFEX European Aquaculture Snapshot to 15th May, 2026

The LFEX Norwegian Exporters Index for Week 20 2026 ended the week UP +0.13 NOK / +0.17% stand at 76.14 NOK (in EUR terms 7.07 / +0.06 / +0.92%) FCA Oslo Week ending Thursday to WEDNESDAY.
The NOK rate ended DOWN at 10.77 (-0.08 /-0.74%) to the Euro to yesterday Thursday. The Fish Pool Euronext future June was reported DOWN at 7.60 EUR (-2.31% / -0.18) for the same period with July showing 6.84.
The Last Week
A flat week. Friday opened at 76.58 up 0.57 NOK or 0.75% coming off a down week prior, and off of the recent lows for the index of 76.01. The Friday push was given back on Monday although only 1 NOK to 75.38 and similar levels followed for Tuesday. We saw a small pickup on Wednesday 76.14 effectively the week finish as the market was closed Thursday for Ascension Day. Strong volumes reported this week.
The FX rate continued to head south for most of the week meaning further NOK strength and more expensive fish in EUR terms. The rate hit a low of 10.73 on Wednesday before picking up on Thursday to 10.77.
Spreads have increased slightly to come in around the 3 NOK level between 3-6s. r
Next Week
Indications for next week are coming in a little under 73 NOK offered levels for the index, pretty much 3 NOK lower than Wednesday. Good volumes are reported and left over fish from last week will keep pricing sentiment low in the short term.
Spreads are tighter at around 2 NOK between 3-6s.
The EUR NOK FX rate is this afternoon is around the 10.85 level having picked up from its lows earlier in the week. This makes the price in Euro’s around 6.73 FCA Oslo this afternoon.
Volumes – Fresh Export
Volume figure for week 19 (2026) was 21,966 tons, UP 3,893 tons as compared to 18,073 in 2025 some 21.54% HIGHER. Volumes for weeks 20 and 21 (2025) were 19,523 and 20,466 respectively for comparison.
Historical Price Guidance for Next Week
The LFEX Norwegian Exporters Index for Week 21 2025 ended the week DOWN -11.75 NOK / -15.23% to stand at 65.42 NOK (in EUR terms 5.68 / -0.93 / -14.12%) FCA Oslo. The NOK rate ended DOWN at 11.52 to the Euro. The Fish Pool Euronext future June was reported DOWN Thursday to Thursday -0.20 / -3.13% at 6.20 EUR, approximately 71.42 NOK.
